Choice
of the correct spindle
The grinding
wheel diameter should be ca. 70-80% of the dimaeter of the hole
to be ground. The chart of spindle speeds is showing spindle speeds
for specificity surface speeds relative to wheel diameter. The dieal
spindle will have a top speed. Slightly higher than the speed calculated
for the grinding wheel. The internal grinding arbors should be as
large in diameter and as short as possible.
By careful choice
of spindle it is possible to obtain up to 5 times more production
than when using the wrongly selected spindle. This is a particular
importance when large batches are to be dealt with. Trying to grind
bores of widely varying diameters iwth the same grinding spindle
is, therefore, inefficient. The cost of several spindles and arbors
pay for themselves within a short time not only by increased output,
but also by lower maintenance costs.
Important
when ordering
Our spindles
are normally built for left or right hand rotation. The direction
of rotation as shown in the adjacent sketch must be clearly stated
on orders both for spindles and equipment. |
